Indications for bladder reconstruction are varied but typically reserved for patients who have failed more conservative options. Reconstruction for malignant indications is dictated mainly by cancer stage while benign indications are more varied. Many reconstruction techniques exist and these patients require careful preoperative evaluation and counseling to determine the best option.
